The aim of this platform is to give European researchers access to world-class nanostructuring capability that equals that of the best groups in the world, thereby overcoming the current discrepancy in e.g. the performance of the very sensitive photonic crystal devices.

In order to achieve this goal, the platform should

• Act as a forum for the exchange of information and know-how between partners with nanostructuring capability.
• Provide a fabrication service for partners. This service will be developed throughout epixnet with the expectation that it will evolve into a self-supporting (semi)-commercial operation in due course.
